I've started ice skating!!!!!

It feels like such a long time coming. I've wanted to since I was little, but ofc there aren't any ice skating rinks back home, so I've just had to wait and dream about it. And now I really get to do it!

Mind you, I'm currently shit at it. Like, I can pump forwards and keep my balance fine, but I'm a long way from actually being good at it. I figure rollerblading so much growing up probably helped a bit, but alas, I'm still very much a beginner.

But I think that if I just keep showing up and being bad, eventually I'll actually become quite good. So that's something to look forward to.

I'm starting the Learn to Skate classes next week, which I'm looking forward to, and I've even bought my first skates in anticipation! The fella in the shop was lovely and helped me lots, and it felt so nice to get to know people at the rink. I enjoy becoming part of places in that way.

I've become good at being brave enough to look silly and be new in places. That has led me to lots of lovely things, and hopefully this one will be one of them.
